The journey to success is not an easy one. It’s full of obstacles and setbacks, but achieving your dream, whether that be starting a business or getting your degree, is what makes the struggle worth it.
Felena Hanson, Founder of Hera Hub, encapsulates the inspiring story of a woman business owner and entrepreneur who has overcome challenges along her own path to success.
Hanson’s tenacious spirit has been with her all of her life. From starting her first business at age 8, to traveling Western Europe solo, it was obvious early on that living her life boldly and with a purpose was the only way Hanson would do it.
Her steadfast spirit helped Hanson get to where she is today, but not without facing circumstances that some may have crumbled under. At age 22, a life-threatening car accident made her reevaluate her life and pushed her to start achieving her biggest goals. By age 30, she had experienced three layoffs in her ever-growing field of technology. A failed marriage and business added to the stress tenfold, but Hanson kept pushing onward toward her goals.
She was running a marketing strategy business out of her home when Hanson developed her idea of Hera Hub. The isolation and distractions that come with working from home, in combination with her active role in women’s organizations like Ladies Who Launch, made her think of the concept of a shared working space for women entrepreneurs.

Hanson wanted to help business women like herself by creating a cost-effective, spa-like space where they could collaborate, meet with clients and network. What started out as a creative idea has now turned into an international business that supports hundreds of freelancers, entrepreneurs and nonprofits in over 16 industry segments.
Along with running Hera Hub, Hanson is the author of “Flight Club – Rebel, Reinvent, and Thrive: How to Launch Your Dream Business” available on Amazon. The book offers readers a look inside Hanson’s journey, along with inspiring stories of other women entrepreneurs and a step-by-process of how to start your dream business.
Today, Hanson continues to be a trailblazer for women entrepreneurs as she grows Hera Hub and supports women on their own journeys toward reaching their goals. She also spends her free time volunteering with Girls Rising, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower at-risk girls to recognize their value and pursue higher goals through a community of women mentors.
